Burning Half a Million Korans (video)

This week in Afghanistan over 12 people were lynched because a Pastor in Florida burned the Qur'an.

While I disagree with his motives for doing this, there can be little argument that he has revealed that a large portion of the islamic world thinks that Islamic religious laws should apply to the rest of the world.

I am not Islamic. I am not subject to Islamic laws.

Doing nothing will not address this issue.

So the obvious choice of action is a mass decentralized action. The sort of thing that was successful with Draw Mohammad Day. But what to do.

It has to show the absurdity of this religious law in the digital age. The obvious thing is download the Quran and delete it. Well there are various options open. Create a half a million copies of the Koran and delete them. Well thats all very good and well, but I have a load of hard drives I need to decommission. The obvious thing is, prior to cracking them open, download as many copies of the Koran onto them as possible. Turns out thats about 50 000 Qurans in Arabic.

It must not be seen that threats of violence have resulted in the de facto application of Islamic law to the rest of the world. It would be an atrocious precedent to set.

It is one thing to despise Jihadist and Islam, but at the end of the day I always ask, "did those innocent little children ask to be born Muslim? Have those little children - now adults, truly hear the full gospel of Jesus Christ? If not, then they are not condemned for the Bible is clear that you will be judged as far as you know and understand. I am not speaking to Jihadists, they are pure evil.

I am talking about a people that live under suppression, fear of retaliation, fear of harm to their loved ones. I lived in the Middle East for five years. The people are inherently good, but they are trapped. There was no American-Muslim I know that condoned 9/11.

Jesus died so that none would perish. The Bible did not say that God sent His only begotten Son so that none would perish 'except Muslims.' Jesus died for them too. How can they know Christ like love if Christians spew hate? And if you are Jewish, that is worse because they already hate the Jews as much as the Christians as the Koran states to "..hate the people of Saturday and Sunday." Most Muslims cannot even read the Koran because it is written in a dialect of Arabic that has not been used for centuries. Even they use a translation from this Arabic into present day Arabic. There has to be a better way without stooping to the level they are at, they do not know better - we are supposed to know better.

Most of these people have no schools, no educators, no libraries, just Mosques where some Jihadist Imam/Sheikh tells them garbage that is in the Koran and that garbage is not in the Koran, but because they cannot read, they believe it. They are victims of ignorance. I do not condone the actions of terrorists or jihadists. I am talking about people that just stive to live peacefully everday and take care of and love our family.

All I know is that Jesus does not want us to hate. I feel so ashamed every time some parody's Mahatma Ghandi's quote, "If Christians would really live according to the teachings of Christ, as found in the Bible, all of India would be Christian today." He also said, “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” That makes me weep.

As Christians we should be ashamed to propogate this hate. Jihadists are wrong, but if they repented today and accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, like Apostle Paul did and he killed 5,000 people that believed in Jesus, and then held Thomas's head while they killed him for his faith in Jesus. Why is it too hard to believe that Muslims could become like Paul and be turned from a Saul into a Paul?

Ah, such doubting Thomas's religiosity and hate have caused many to become.

I note you edit what can be posted. If I come back and do not see my post I will know you are not mature enough to handle an opinion other than your own nor engage in intelligent conversation to work toward the good of mankind in Jesus's name.

Prove me wrong.

Layla. " Christians we should be ashamed to propogate (sic) this hate. " Per this video - making a statement that Islam does not compel me is not hate. It is an assertion of freedom.

Many of your points are valid and true.
