Why did Bl. Pope John Paul II kiss the Q'uran?
Why did Bl. Pope John Paul II kiss the Q'uran? The same reason why Pope Pius XII kept diplomatic ties with the Nazis - to defend the helpless in the hands of the Nazis, now Muslims, and to save those that are being persecuted through diplomatic channels and stations e.g. churches and other religious institutions that had provided sanctuary to Jews back then and hopefully the Christians these days. Bl. Pope John Paul II would have smoked a turd if it would save a single Coptic Christian. St. John Bosco said that he would tip his hat to the devil, if he would let him snatch a soul from hell.

Jewish Group calls Sarandon to apologize for calling Pope a Nazi
If video fails, click here or go to
Sarandon also drew strong criticism from the Jewish community.
"Ms. Sarandon may have her differences with the Catholic Church, but that is no excuse for throwing around Nazi analogies. Such words are hateful, vindictive and only serve to diminish the true history and meaning of the Holocaust," The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which fights anti-Semitism, said in a statement while also calling on Sarandon to issue an apology to the Catholic community.

CAIRO: The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmed el-Tayeb, reiterated his call for
Pope Benedict XVI, head of the Roman Catholic Church, to officially apologize for insulting Islam. El-Tayeb said such an apology is a basic condition for resumption of interfaith dialogue between the two religious authorities.
El-Tayeb met with Michael Girard, Ambassador of the Holy See to Egypt, and refused to resume relations between Al-Azhar and the Vatican until the Pope apologizes for insulting Islam and Muslims.

Pope Benedict laments 'slow suicide of Europe' because of Muslim immigration.
From: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2011/09/25/muslims-in-europe-pope-lamented-slow-suicide.html
Buried away on page 48 of the former press proprietor Conrad Black’s superb, soon-to-be-published autobiography, A Matter of Principle, is the answer to a burning question that very many people have been asking for several years: What does the pope really think about Islamic immigration into Europe? What, in his heart of hearts, does the Supreme Pontiff of the world’s estimated 1.15 billion Roman Catholics truly feel about the future of Western civilization in a continent that has seen such large-scale Muslim immigration over the past half century?
Everyone remembers the massive international controversy surrounding Pope Benedict XVI’s lecture at Regensburg University in September 2006, when he quoted the Byzantine emperor Manuel II Palaiologos, one of the last Christian rulers before the fall of Constantinople to the Ottomans: "Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." There were riots in the streets of many Muslim countries, the Pakistani Parliament demanded a retraction, Christian churches were firebombed—including five in the West Bank and Gaza, our exciting new Palestinian state—and 100 Muslim clerics wrote an open letter criticizing the speech, even though all the pope was doing was quoting someone else. As security was stepped up around St. Peter’s, the Vatican issued an apology, saying that the pope "sincerely regrets that certain passages of his address could have sounded offensive to the sensitivities of the Muslim faithful and should have been interpreted in a manner that in no way corresponds to his intentions."
Now, however, Lord Black’s authoritative and highly readable new memoir (full disclosure: I’m a dedicatee) reveals that at a small dinner party given at the home of Cardinal Gerald Emmett Carter, the then–cardinal archbishop of Toronto, in 1990, the then-cardinal Joseph Ratzinger—now Pope Benedict—"lamented 'the slow suicide of Europe:' its population was aging and shrinking, and the unborn were being partly replaced by unassimilable immigrants. He thought that Europe would awake from its torpor, but that there were difficult days head." Black concluded that "Like other cardinals of my acquaintance (including our host), he was a far-sighted judge of important secular matters."
This four-man dinner party—the fourth was Cardinal Carter’s chancellor—of course took place over a decade before 9/11, and 16 years before Ratzinger would, as pope, speak at Regensburg, before apologizing and rightly pointing out that the offensive words had not been his but those of a long-dead Byzantine emperor. Since then, the Roman Catholic Church has been conspicuous by its absence in championing Western values against the cacophony of radical Islamic assertions. Where was the Vatican during the controversies over the Danish cartoons, for example, or the fatwa against Ayaan Hirsi Ali, or the Swiss minarets issue or the French hijab debate, let alone over the multifarious moral and ethical aspects of the global war on terror? It was most often nowhere to be seen, or else comfortably denouncing NATO and the Americans for "excesses." A strong statement by the Vatican this week opposing Palestine joining the comity of nations while still promising death to Israel, for example, would have been invaluable, but of course the modern, PC-obsessed Catholic Church is not about to display that kind of long-overdue wisdom.
Yet thanks to Lord Black’s fascinating book we now know what the pope really thinks, and indeed thought back in 1990, even before the last two decades of mass immigration into Europe from African and Middle Eastern Muslim countries. For the phrase "unassimilable immigrants" cannot refer to anyone else, because there was no large-scale immigration into Europe at that time from any other peoples who fit that description. The largely unassimilated Muslim populations of Germany, France, Holland, Italy, and Britain were undoubtedly what His Holiness was discussing, and in his (correct) view they represent "the slow suicide of Europe," or at least the Christian Europe for which he should be the prime spokesman. It was Arnold Toynbee who wrote in his multicivilizational work The Study of History that "Civilizations die from suicide, not murder." Now we know that the pope agrees with him, but only in private, not in public, just in case the reaction is too unpleasant.
Thanks to Lord Black’s fascinating book we now know what the pope really thinks.
The great thing about being the Vicar of Christ, who has the job literally for life and without the need to stand for reelection, is that you can say precisely what you believe without fear or favor from anyone terrestrial. You’re even the sovereign of a state, so no secular power can touch you either. So now should be the time that Pope Benedict XVI speaks in public about the phenomenon that everyone knows is true, but because of political correctness most of us shrink from saying. It's hard to think of better words than his own: the slow suicide of Europe is taking place in large part due to unassimilable Islamic immigration. In the meantime, Conrad Black has done us all a signal service in bravely quoting his true thoughts, rather than his own, on this most vital issue.

The Vatican Slams Obama over Abortion
Excerpt from http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1873904,00.html
With unusual speed, the Vatican has condemned Obama's Jan. 23 repeal of the ban on U.S. funding for foreign family-planning aid groups that offer abortion services. The repeal fulfills a campaign promise Obama made to pro-choice supporters. But if the late-Friday-afternoon signing was an attempt to get the change in under the radar, it didn't work. Top Vatican officials, usually hesitant to respond directly to Washington's domestic-policy decisions, pounced quickly. By Saturday afternoon, the Holy See was e-mailing reporters the Sunday edition of its official daily, L'Osservatore Romano, which features a front-page headline describing Obama's decision as "very disappointing."

Egypt Demands Pope To Apologize
In a meeting with the Egyptian foreign minister, Imam Ahmed El-Tayeb says he is willing to renew relations with the Vatican. However, he still wants an official apology from the pope for making an appeal on behalf of Egypt’s Christians and their security. A spokesman for the Egyptian Catholic Church expresses his appreciation for the government’s work in trying to relay the Holy Father’s concerns about Egypt.
Cairo (AsiaNews) – The new Egyptian government is trying to mend fences between Al-Azhar University and the Vatican. Recently, Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil al-Araby met Ahmed El-Tayeb, the imam of Al-Azhar Mosque, to discuss his recent visit with Benedict XVI. According to the minister, the head of Al-Azhar is prepared to renew relations with the Vatican, which were cut on 3 January after the pontiff came to the defence of Christians in the wake of the terrorist attack against Alexandria cathedral. However, university spokesman Mahmoud Abdel Jawwad said that any dialogue could be renewed only if the Vatican made an official apology for offending Islam.

My comment: The absurdity of these demands come from the fact that these people no longer have functional spiritual faculties. Islam has darkened their souls so much that they see they murderous crimes as virtue and feel no guilt when they desecrate a church.

Pope identifies Antichrist in New Book
Excerpt from Catholic Herald
The Pope has condemned religiously motivated violence, describing it as a “favourite instrument of the Antichrist” in his new book about the life of Jesus published today. From the video, you'll see verses from Mohammed's Koran that exhorts just that - to commit violence in the name of Allah. If video fails, click here or go to http://divine-ripples.blogspot.com/2011/03/pope-identifies-antichrist-as-one-who.html
In Jesus of Nazareth – Holy Week: From the Entrance into Jerusalem to the Resurrection, published by the Catholic Truth Society, the Holy Father criticised the idea that violence in the name of religion is justifiable...
Archbishop Silvano Tomasi, permanent representative of the Holy See to the UN in Geneva, cited a statistic that 75 per cent of those killed because of their religion across the world are Christian. He was speaking at the 16th ordinary session of the Human Rights Council on religious freedom.
Pope Benedict has consistently spoken out against religiously motivated violence, including in his famous 2006 Regensburg lecture, in which he said: “Violence is incompatible with the nature of God and the nature of the soul.”He began the year by condemning sectarian violence, including attacks against Christians in the Middle East.In October he will host a meeting of religious leaders in Assisi to discuss how they can promote peace, 25 years after Pope John Paul II held a similar event. But soon after the meeting was announced the Islamic Research Council of the University of al-Azhar in Cairo, the highest authority of Sunni Islam, said it was ending dialogue with the Vatican after the Pope spoke out against anti-Christian violence in Egypt.

Pope analyzes revolts in Middle East with President of Lebanon
If video fails click here or go to http://divine-ripples.blogspot.com/2011/02/pope-analyzes-revolts-in-middle-east.html
24/02/2011 13:59:17: romereports February 24, 2011.Michel Sleiman, the president of Lebanon, visited Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican for the second time. He is the only Christian president in the region. They exchanged views on the riots that have been sweeping through the Middle East and asked for an urgent resolution to the conflicts. Speaking in French, they also discussed the struggles for Christians in the Middle East.
The two spoke privately for about 30 minutes. According to the Vatican, they have highlighted the importance of collaboration and dialogue between Christians and Muslims, and stressed that “the presence of Christians and Muslims in Lebanon is a message of freedom and respectful coexistence throughout the Middle East.
The official statement underlines the importance of civil and religious authorities to educate the consciences for peace and reconciliation.
Sleiman was accompanied by his wife. He gave the Pope a sixteenth century gold and ivory incense burner, which came from a Maronite monastery.
My comments: Are they discussing the issue of future Chrisitan refugees who will be fleeing persecution from the upcoming Islamic states of Egypt, Iraq et. al.?

Description: Benedict XVI sent a message for the World Day of the Immigrant and Refugees 2010 which will take place on January 16. The Pope noted that states have the right to "regulate migratory flows" and "defend their borders." But at the same time asked that governments welcome all people and ensure respect for human dignity.

Hard directive from Rome. Does your bishop comply?

"Your rod and your staff – they comfort me": the shepherd needs the rod as protection against savage beasts ready to pounce on the flock; against robbers looking for prey. Along with the rod there is the staff which gives support and helps to make difficult crossings. Both of these are likewise part of the Church’s ministry, of the priest’s ministry. The Church too must use the shepherd’s rod, the rod with which he protects the faith against those who falsify it, against currents which lead the flock astray. The use of the rod can actually be a service of love. Today we can see that it has nothing to do with love when conduct unworthy of the priestly life is tolerated. Nor does it have to do with love if heresy is allowed to spread and the faith twisted and chipped away, as if it were something that we ourselves had invented. As if it were no longer God’s gift, the precious pearl which we cannot let be taken from us. Even so, the rod must always become once again the shepherd’s staff – a staff which helps men and women to tread difficult paths and to follow the Lord.

Aesop's Fable: The Wolf and the Lamb.

A WOLF, meeting with a lamb astray from the fold, resolved not to lay violent hands on him, but to find some plea, which should justify to the lamb himself, his right to eat him. He then addressed him: Sirrah, last year you grossly insulted me. Indeed, bleated the lamb in a mournful tone of voice: I was not then born. Then said the wolf: You feed in my pasture. No, good sir, replied the lamb: I have not yet tasted grass. Again said the wolf: You drink of my well. No, exclaimed the lamb: I never yet drank water, for as yet my mother's milk is both food and drink to me. Upon which the wolf seized him and ate him up, saying: Well! I won't remain supper-less, even though you refute every one of my imputations.
Moral: The tyrant will always find a pretext for his tyranny, and it is useless for the innocent to try by reasoning to get justice, when the oppressor intends to be unjust.

St. John Bosco's Prophetic Vision About the Pope and Persecution
On May 30, 1862 , Don Bosco recounted that in a dream he had seen an immense sea on which a great many ships were arranged for battle against a larger and taller ship. He also saw others which were defending the tall ship. Here are his words: "In the midst of this endless sea, two solid columns, a short distance apart, soar high into the sky. One is surmounted by a statue of the Immaculate Virgin, at whose feet a large inscriptions reads:" 'Auxilium Christianorum' ('Help of Christians') . The other, far loftier and sturdier, supports a Host of proportionate size, and bears beneath it the inscription: 'Salus credentium' ('Salvation of believers').
"The flagship commander - the Roman Pontiff- standing at the helm, strains every muscle to steer his ship between the two columns, from whose summits hang many anchors and strong hooks linked to chains. The entire enemy fleet closes in to intercept and sink the flagship at all costs. They bombard it with everything they have: books and pamphlets, incendiary bombs, firearms, cannons. The battle rages ever more furious. Beaked prows ram the flagship again and again, but to no avail, as, unscathed and undaunted, it keeps on it course. At times, a formidable ram splinters a gaping hole in its hull, but immediately, a breeze from the two columns instantly seals the gash.
"Meanwhile, enemy cannons blow up; firearms and beaks fall to pieces; ships crack up and sink to the bottom. In blind fury, the enemy takes to hand-to-hand combat, cursing and blaspheming. Suddenly the Pope falls, seriously wounded. He is instantly helped up, but struck a second time, dies. A shout of victory rises from the enemy, and wild rejoicing seeps their ships. But no sooner is the Pope dead than another takes his place. The captains of the auxiliary ships elected him so quickly that the news of the Pope's death coincides with that of his successor's election. The enemy's self-assurance wanes.
"Breaking through all resistance, the new Pope steers his ship safely between the two columns; first, to the one surmounted by the Host, and then the other, topped by the statue of the Virgin. At this point, something unexpected happens. The enemy ships panic and disperse, colliding with and scuttling each other.
"Some auxiliary ships, which had gallantly fought alongside their flagship, are the first to tie up at the two columns. Many others, which had fearfully kept far away from the fight, stand still, cautiously waiting until the wrecked enemy ships vanish under the waves. Then they too head for the two columns, tie up at the swinging hooks and ride safe and tranquil beside their flagship. A great calm now covers the sea. " (Biographical Memoirs of St. John Bosco, Vol. VII. Pages 107-108).

Vindication of Obama's Foes - the Defenders of Life & Freedom.
After the passage of 'Obamacare', the protests continued from the Church who opposes the federal funding of abortion and the Tea Partiers who resist the government take-over of the health care industry. That was met with slander and libel from the media who went after the Pope himself accusing him of 'touching boys'. The Tea partiers were demonized as yelling racial epithets to Black Congressmen. The righteous indignations against these groups have been from talk shows, news reports, newpapers, the web and magazine articles. But the mighty propagandists like Goliath was hit by the pebbles of truth. The incidents surrounding the Pope's involvement was mapped out and the evidence was presented in a clear and distinct manner from the Wall Street Journal to reporters from the Vatican. The Black Congressmen's walk through the protestors was replayed in streaming videos by millions only to hear 'Kill the bill' shouted and that's it. No N word can be found in that din. I have listed references about the Pope's strict treatment of erring clerics and the links to CNNs extensive coverage of the Tea Parties.

Vatican responds to media distortions on Tucson abuse cases
In an extraordinary display of media bias, the Associated Press has reported that “the abuse cases of two priests in Arizona have cast further doubt on the Catholic church's insistence that Pope Benedict XVI played no role in shielding pedophiles before he became pope.”
Far from “shielding pedophiles,” the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, at Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger’s direction, ruled that the two priests-- Fathers Michael Teta and Robert Trupia-- be removed from the priesthood, as Catholic World News had earlier reported. Both priests exercised their right to lengthy canonical appeals of earlier disciplinary actions, but were suspended from ministry during that time.
Father Federico Lombardi, director of the Holy See Press Office, issued a statement on the Teta case.
“The Diocese of Tucson contacted the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith regarding the case, because it regarded the canonical crime of solicitation in the confessional,” he said. “The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith took an active interest in the case throughout the 1990’s, in order to guarantee that the Church trial underway in the Diocese of Tucson was properly completed. The trial was completed in 1997. The cleric in question was found guilty and laicized. The evidence clearly and certainly shows this.”

MSNBC LIBELS THE POPE
Catholic League president Bill Donohue accuses MSNBC of libeling Pope Benedict XVI:
Go to the home page of MSNBC and click on "World News." From there click on "Americas." Next click on the article, "Losing Their Religion? Catholicism in Turmoil." Scroll down and in the "Click for Related Content" section there is an article entitled, "Pope Describes Touching Boys: I Went Too Far." Clicking on this piece takes the reader to an article about a homosexual German priest who had sex with males in the 1980s. It says absolutely nothing about the pope. Yet MSNBC paints Pope Benedict XVI as a child molester in the tease to the article.
A retraction, and a sincere apology, are in order. They should also investigate how this happened and who is responsible.

Ricky Vines MSNBC Libels Pope. Really disgusting assault. As noted above, there is a great desire to undermine the authority of the bishops and Pope in the USin an attempt to lend credibility to other Catholics who disregard the episcopal guidance and formtheir own interpretation of the faith. This mistake coming from the propaganda arm of the administrationis just so convenient. The Church must explore all legal options to enforce a punitive measure that willprevent such recklessness in the future. This is another way to make Pelosi, Kennedy, Stupak, Keehan andCHA to look like reasonable if not faithful to the spirit of Catholicism. I think it would be naivefor the Church to swallow that apology hook, line and sinker. I move for a court case to be filedand damages levied. This is the Vicar of our Incarnate God Who face is being dragged through the mud.I think many will contribute to the legal fees that will be incurred when filing such a case.
