Video description:  Go to IAM71.org to join this groundbreaking online protest against taxpayer funded abortions. Polls show that 71% of the American people oppose public funding for abortion in the national health care reform package. Make your voices heard!

What is I Am 71 Percent?

President Barack Obama has been quoted as saying that abortion funding is central to his health care reform agenda. But not so fast, Mr. President!

A recent Zogby poll has shown that 71% of Americans oppose taxpayer funded abortions.

Are you one of those Americans? If so, then join our virtual protest!

We plan make sure that President Obama and every member of Congress is sent a link to these photos so they can put faces on the 71% figure that represents the percentage of Americans opposed to tax-funding of abortion in health care legislation currently under consideration. We want them to look us in the eye and consider who they represent before they finalize plans to oppose our will on this critical moral issue.

Take a picture of yourself with the number 71 then click here to upload your photo and we will add you to the I Am 71 Gallery!  (Or type http://www.prolifeunity.com/index.php/iam71percent/comment/upload )

But this protest doesn’t stop there. Click the “Do More” tab to make your voice heard so that not one dime will go to fund the killing of innocent children through abortion!

DID YOU KNOW?

Whenever public funds are used to pay for abortions, the abortion rate rises. That makes the issue of public abortion funding a critical life-and-death moral issue of great importance to the American people.

( I got this from Pro-Life Girl. & I sent my ugly mug in. )

The Hyde Amendment ALREADY prohibits public funds from being used to pay for abortions.

The Hyde Amendment prohibits public funds from being used to pay for abortions [PERIOD]

Listen carefully to what they are saying in the video. Yes, public funds are now going to institutions that perform abortions, as virtually every clinic and most hospitals perform abortions, but they are not paying for any abortions, nor can they as long as the Hyde Amendment is in place. As long as abortion is legal, most heal care facilities will perform them from time to time and public funding of health care (even Medicare) would grind to a halt if the Hyde Amendment were expanded to prohibit federal funds from going to any provider of abortion.

THE ISSUE IS NOT ABORTION! And people who keep on bringing up abortion again and again are only distracting us from the real issue.

The issue is how America is going to fund health care.

Right now, we have the worst of all possible situations: the rich can afford it, the indigent are given it for free by the government, while the working classes have to fight for every claim against their insurance, that is, if they are lucky enough even to have insurance. Such a system is unfair, as the people who actually do the work in society are given the worst deal. I favor a single-payer system, but I would concede that it would be fair enough if the government just got out of the heal care business altogether.
