This man is a personification of the American spirit that is indefatigable . It shows the winning and fighting spirit that overcame the British kingdom and the Nazi military machine against seemingly insurmountable odds. It is still the spirit of most Americans who prefer to determine their own destinies instead of becoming dependent on welfare from the State.
