Nun Excommunicated for Abortion Decision in AZ

Source:  http://the-american-catholic.com/2010/05/15/nun-automatically-excommunicated-for-approving-abortion/
Bishop Thomas Olmstead of the Diocese of Phoenix has confirmed that Sister Margaret McBride of Phoenix’ Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center had incurred an automatic excommunication or latae sententiae excommunication.  What this means is as soon as the offense is committed Sister McBride was automatically excommunicated by her own actions[1].
Sister Margaret McBride made the decision to kill a critically ill mother’s innocent unborn child because there was a high risk of the mother not surviving the innocent child’s birth.  In essence Sister McBride allowed for an abortion.

What we need to know is if Sr. McBride is a faithful nun who approved the abortion in an emergency situation, the same way a faithful Catholic cop might shoot an innocent psychotic man who was convinced that a neighbor was a dangerous space alien and was trying to save the earth by killing him. Or is she a rebellious nun who was just itching for a chance to try to make the church look bad?

When the first abortion occurs under Obamacare, will Sr.Carol Keehan share the same fate?

@Granny: Good point. Acc. to the hospital, the only way to save the mother was through the abortion. I don't have any details to corroborate the validity of that assessment. She should have been prepared to make those hard calls given her position. I assume she was. And she called it wrong deliberately.

@Anon: I hope so but I doubt it because, canon law specifies only the pols who make the law and the healthcare profs who participate in abortion.
