The Child Who Was Never Born - Moving, Insightful, Inspiring

Abortion is irreversible. Consider adoption in the worse case scenario. But usually, the financial concerns can be met by charitable institutions, family and friends if one is humble enough to ask and unselfish enough to keep the child alive - despite the difficulties.

Reform the GOP or start a coalition of true Republicans, Moderate Dems & Independents

Cartoon by Chuck Asay

If the GOP does not respond to the conservatives or even sells out it's soul to pro-aborts, will it be time to form another party?  What is the point of voting for a Republican who no longer stands for Conservative ideals?

To have a truce with abortion supporters is like ...

To have a truce with abortion supporters is like having a truce with the Nazis. They round up the Jewish people, detain them then put them into hard labor. When they're too weak or sick to work, they gas them and burn their remains. But with a truce, one stands idly by saying, "Sorry, but we need to get our finances in order."

To have a truce with abortion supporters is like having a truce with the Klan. They pick up a black man in the dark of night, bind and gag the poor soul as they head into the woods. They stick a burning cross in his front yard while his wife holds his crying children. In the woods, they beat the man and cut him until when they're done, they end it by tying a noose around his neck and pulling him up a tree while he asphyxiates for his last breath. But with a truce, one looks the other way saying, "We have a deficit to lower so, we can't be distracted by lynching right now."

To have a truce with abortion supporters is like having a truce with gang bangers. They ride up to grab a girl, maybe 7 or 8 and push her in the back seat. They pull up an alley and take turns raping her as she cries for her daddy. With a truce, one ignores the shouts and simply closes the window to drown her pleas. Then one pulls down the shade to keep the crime out of sight. With a truce, one talks a little louder stressing, "Our first priority is to control our expenses. That girl's problems is not important right now."

The unborn are people too who are slaughtered daily in the most excruciating way. They are chemically burned or suctioned into pieces. They are cut and pulled apart piece by piece. To have a truce with abortion supporters is to let this carnage continue daily.

It is good that we see Republicans call for this action because, we know who among our party are with distorted morals and values. These people need to be kicked out of the party because they will usher confusion and institutionalize evil and wrong doing within the platform. Pretty soon, people won't have a leg to stand on as they fall for every new compromise to the most horrible crime in our times. Shame on those Republicans.

Upcoming Superbowl Ad Scares Pro-Choice Mob. Their Slander Refuted.

Pro-choice mob tries to block Pam Tebow from sharing her dangerous choice to keep Tim.  Pam is scheduled to talk about the abortion recommendation in a Superbowl ad and her detractors call her a liar because, it is improbable for the doctor to suggest an abortion - an illegal procedure where they were, the Philippines.

While I am unaware of the facts behind Pam's medical case, I know that in Catholic moral theology, there is the principle of double-effect where some actions may be considered moral even if they have two effects - one good and the other evil.  For example, operating on a cancerous uterus would kill the fetus attached to it or taking metronidazole can have the side-effect of a miscarriage.  So, that is the context where Catholic doctors might have advised "abortion".  It is not exactly "abortion" that was recommended but a procedure that can have that side-effect.  It is a subtle difference but it is one that is consistent to the condemnation of abortion in all cases.

Update from an intro to her speech at Louisville Women's Ministries.
More than 21 years ago, she and her husband, Bob, were serving as missionaries to the Philippines and praying for a fifth child. Pam became ill and was treated with strong antibiotics before discovering she was pregnant. Doctors urged her to abort the baby for her own safety. She refused.

Update from Gainesville Sun.
Just before her pregnancy, Pam fell into a coma after contracting amoebic dysentery, a bacteria transmitted through contaminated drinking water. During her recovery, she received a series of strong medications. And even though she discontinued the regimen when she discovered the pregnancy, doctors told Pam the fetus had been damaged.  "They thought I should have an abortion to save my life from the beginning all the way through the seventh month," she recalled.  In her seventh month of pregnancy, Pam traveled to the country's capital, Manila, where she received around-the-clock care from an American-trained physician.

Video: 2010 Right to Life March ~350,000. US media did not report.

When it comes to covering pro-life activities, the US mainstream media either ignores or distorts the story.   In the video below, Rick Sanchez gives the impression that the pro-choice crowd is just as active and numerous.  Truth and objectivity is compromised or sold out to the sponsors.  But what is mind boggling is despite the over-whelming numbers of pro-lifers, the media still sides with the abortion supporters;  that does not make much business sense.  Wouldn't  there be more viewers or papers sold if they reported the story fairly?  The video below documents the death of journalistic integrity when it comes to this issue.  The mainstream media, MSM, has become part of the government propaganda machinery.  But the truth cannot be hidden and it shall set people free.

Video description: At the 2010 March for Life the media set new standards for journalistic fraud. In its lead photo, CNN showed five pro-abortion picketers, all that could be found, and ignored the 300,000 pro-life marchers. CNN's Rick Sanchez wondered out loud which group dominated. Newsweek claimed that most participants were in their 60's when, in fact, most were under 25. This video sets the record straight.

Pelosi, Church and Senate Healthcare Bill

In an interview with Eleanor Clift, Nancy Pelosi justifies her position and shows her unwillingness to seek the truth despite her bishop’s attempts to correct her.  Here are excerpts from that interview and my own comments.

Pelosi:  I talked to one of the cardinals. I said to him that I believe that what we are doing honors the principles we talked about: we want to pass a health-care bill, we want it to be abortion neutral, and we want it to [have] no federal funding [for abortion], which is the law. And we believe that our language does that. They said, "We believe that it does not." I said, let's sit down at the table and our lawyers can compare language. That's what the meeting was about—to make our case. Clearly, the people at that table were not willing to accept what we know to be a fact.
When the cardinals said, “We believe that it does not.”   She should respond with, “How so?” instead of my lawyers will beat your lawyers in a debate to prove that I am right.

Pelosi:  I have some concerns about the church's position respecting a woman's right to choose. I have some concerns about the church's position on gay rights. I am a practicing Catholic, although they're probably not too happy about that.
In other words, she cannot accept the Church’s teaching and guidance on these subjects.  A practicing Catholic is someone who abides by the teachings of the Church.  Her proclamation is for the interview to give an erroneous perception that one can be a practicing Catholic and reject the Church’s stances.

Pelosi:  But it is my faith.
It may be her faith, but it is not the faith of the followers of Jesus.  She must have started her own church that we were unaware of.

Pelosi:  I practically mourn this difference of opinion because I feel what I was raised to believe is consistent with what I profess
The differences are between her opinion and the objective truth presented by the official teachers which is not an opinion. She needs to seek the truth instead of mourning her divergence from it.  And whatever she was raised to believe is being corrected by the bishop, so why is she reluctant to relinquish those errors?

Pelosi:…what I profess, and that is that we are all endowed with a free will and a responsibility to answer for our actions.
The fact that we are endowed with a free will and responsibility to answer for our actions does not affirm that it is correct, moral and good to abort one’s child.  Free will is not a license to kill.  It is an opportunity to do the right thing without coercion.

Pelosi:  And that women should have that opportunity to exercise their free will.
She means that women should be able to choose abortion legally.  Should rapists be able to rape legally as an exercise of their free will?

Pelosi:  When I speak to my archbishop in San Francisco and his role is to try to change my mind on the subject, well then he is exercising his pastoral duty to me as one of his flock.  When they call me on the phone here to talk about, or come to see me about an issue, that's a different story. Then they are advocates, and I am a public official, and I have a different responsibility.

Is she a Catholic public official or a public official who is also Catholic?  Then again, if the bishops advocate the rights of the unborn then there is really no difference because that is not just a Catholic thing.  It is about the universal and inalienable rights of everyone - born or unborn.

False Catholic Groups Welcome Abortion Language in Senate Bill

(Source: New York Times )
"The Senate bill, approved Thursday morning, allows any state to bar the use of federal subsidies for insurance plans that cover abortion and requires insurers in other states to divide subsidy money into separate accounts so that only dollars from private premiums would be used to pay for abortions.  Just days before the bill passed, the Catholic Health Association, which represents hundreds of Catholic hospitals across the country, said in a statement that it was “encouraged” and “increasingly confident” that such a compromise “can achieve the objective of no federal funding for abortion.” An umbrella group for nuns followed its lead.  The same day, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops called the proposed compromise “morally unacceptable.”

First of all, this group is a private association and does not represent the Church in any way - other than by name or CINO, Catholic In Name Only.  In this matter where it comes in direct opposition to the bishops' stance, it has even become a distraction, a source of confusion that misleads others.  The Church really needs to manage it's brand.

But in addition to the bishops' statement, the fact that the bishops are ready to close the Church's hospitals if forced to perform abortions is the clearest sign of where it stands.

Kids at Mass, Catholic Pols & Judges, Halloween Prep, Father Daughter night, Stewardship Sun.

Kids at Mass.
I have a 10, 8, 7 & 2 year old. For those who have kids, then they know that it is nearly impossible to pray at Mass  when the whole family is around. I usually end up hurmoring one in the common area. So we are now going to Mass by groups. The wife takes the boys; I take the girl and the baby stays at home. It works. The kids are so well behaved that we don't stay at the "cry room" anymore. It's not a perfect solution but it's good enough.

Halloween Prep.
This afternoon, my wife and kids decorated the front of the house and lawn for Halloween with plastic jack-o-lanterns and a witch Japanese kite. They had fun although I am not so hot about Halloween, since it is a Pagan celebration. We look at it as a costume and candy night instead.

Father Daughter night.
After the evening Mass, my daughter, "Em" and I had our night out. We first went to the food court of a mall but it was already closed at 7 pm. So, we went to a Japanese restaurant nearby. I asked her to pick what she wanted. Em was clearly enjoying the undivided attention. We ended up sharing the curried chicken, seafood noodle soup and stir fried string beans. I talked to her about the times when her brother teased her because that bothered her a lot. "If someone says you have green hair, will that make it true?" I asked. She said no. "So, if it is not true, then why will you feel bad?" I continued. "It's just ridiculous if anything."  She agreed. Then we went to a grocery where we got her favorite candy - Skittles. As we walked hand in hand all night long, I kept thinking that someday I'll walk her down the aisle to entrust her to another man. Till then, I make these little moments and then tuck them in my treasure chest of blessings. Thank you Lord.

Catholic Politician - an oxymoron.
If we simply examine the voting records of Catholic politicians in the US, we'll see that the positions that they have taken are contrary to the position of the Church. The Protestants show themselves to be the true followers of Jesus in this matter.  I wonder if they do that intentionally to show that they do not let their Catholic faith get in the way of serving all their constituents. They know that abortion is murder but support it anyway for the sake of the one's who don't think it is murder. They push the responsibility to the mother. I think it is a cop out and a sell out.   It may keep them in power; then again, with more and more Americans choosing more spiritual values, I doubt it. Were it not for the rich and powerful abortion lobby, that platform will not have a leg to stand on. Going back to the politicians, the Church teaches that they should promote justice and other moral principles in the world and that includes protecting the rights of the unborn. But they ignore that and turn to dissident theologians to prop their positions. Those theologians will not be able to save them at  the judgment day so they practically sold their souls to the devil and keep numbing their consciences with the sophisms of false teachers. Perhaps the Lord will forgive them "for not knowing what they do." Then again, they're smart and the warnings have not been wanting.

Stewardship Sunday.
The pastor spoke about giving more to the church. I stopped giving to the church of Abp. Wuerl's archdiocese ever since he said that he will not enforce canon 915 to discipline politicians. I give to other Catholic organizations like "Food for the Poor" instead. I don't think the bishop will grow hungry and if there is any danger of that, then I will pledge to provide canned goods and grain for him and my parish priest.  But I think the dioceses here have millions.  Not too long ago, I heard about 2 priests stealing $2 million from their parish in CT. Also, I found out that the USCCB was funding groups that supported abortion, prostition and other immoralities. So, that's it for the US churches. Stewardship is a good thing. But stewardship does not mean giving to these rich churches.  Before St. Peter said, "Gold and silver I have none but, in the name of Jesus Christ arise and walk."  The bishops here cannot say those anymore.  They can't say gold they have none nor can they say arise and walk.  That is why the faith communities here are crippled and dying.

Vatican corrects US bishops

Archbishop Raymond L. Burke
Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura

Last week, the Vatican in the person of Archbishop Raymond L. Burke, Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura had to correct erring bishops in matters of pastoral discipline as it pertains to politicians who support abortion legislation and policies.  "Neither Holy Communion nor funeral rites should be administered to such politicians," said Archbishop Burke. "To deny these is not a judgment of the soul, but a recognition of the scandal and its effects."

In an interview, Abp. Wuerl (click here), stated that he won't deny communion to pro-abortion politicians because he is not their bishop even if they are in Washington, D.C. However, he would honor the decision of the bishops of the politicians' home diocese.

Archbishop Donal Wuerl
Bishop of the Archdiocese of Washington D.C.

For Abp. Wuerl, giving communion to pro-abortion politicians is up to the bishops' discretion - contrary to the instruction of canon 915 by Abp. Burke. Based on that, Abp. Wuerl cannot cop out using the quasi-jurisdictional limitation over the politicians who work in DC; because, it is not discretionary.  It is not up to the bishop.  So even if the home bishop allows the pol, that is no excuse.  I think he's just afraid to cross these  politicians because, they might pull some strings and end his Washington career just like what happened to Bishop Martino. But that's just me. And I hope my bishop remembers Whom to fear really because, the unborn are being murdered daily by the thousands making Herod at Bethlehem look like a pajama party.
Source: http://www.politicsdaily.com/2009/05/06/archbishop-wuerl-why-i-won-t-deny-pelosi-communion/

Archbishop Sean O'Malley
Archbishop of Boston

Consider the funeral Mass and burial services of the late Senator Ted Kennedy, who is by far the staunchest supporter of abortion rights. Despite a prohibition in Church law, Cardinal Seán P. O'Malley allowed and attended the funeral Mass at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help where the late senator was practically canonized in the eulogies and prayers. He should not have been given a Catholic funeral at all according to Abp. Burke. Click here for a text of his damage control explanation.  But the cardinal knew that.  It must have been nice to hob-nob with the aristocrats of New England.  But it would have been nicer to serve the Lord and His people faithfully.

Hopefully the correction from the Vatican will not fall on arrogant ears and we won't hear, "I am the bishop and this is my turf!"  The people still belongs to God and are united to the Church in Rome.  "The Church's unity is founded on speaking the truth in love.  This does not destroy unity but helps to repair a breach in the life of the Church",  emphasized Abp. Burke.

So the bishops do not own the community;  the community owns them.  Gone are the days when lay people have to be taught using stained glass pictures.  In this information age, the laity can go directly to the Pope and Curia.  So, if erring bishops persist in defying the law of Church then the community can report them or practically fire them by no longer supporting them financially or otherwise.

Vatican position on Kennedy's Demise

Those who wanted to make the late senator Ted Kennedy the poster child for Catholics who support choice or abortion rights have been waiving a letter from the Pope that referenced well wishes and a blessing.  They seem to suggest that the Pope's words indicated that Kennedy was going to "sail into a happy place" as stated by President Obama.  My opinion is that it is a typical form letter sent as a polite response.

To remove any doubt of where the Church officially stood or what the Pope meant, the prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, Archbishop Raymond L. Burke, came to Washington, D.C. last Friday and referenced this matter.  "Neither Holy Communion nor funeral rites should be administered to such politicians," said Archbishop Burke. "To deny these is not a judgment of the soul, but a recognition of the scandal and its effects."

He firmly held that when a politician is associated "with greatly sinful acts about fundamental questions like abortion and marriage, his repentance must also be public." He added, "Anyone who grasps the gravity of what he has done will understand the need to make it public."

So, it is more likely that Kennedy is condemned to an eternity in hell.

Contrary to the suggestion of Cardinal O'Malley, it's not uncharitable to point out the scandal caused by these Catholic politicians.  "The Church's unity is founded on speaking the truth in love. This does not destroy unity but helps to repair a breach in the life of the Church."

Thoughts about common ground on abortion

On common ground about abortion
Short version, there is none.  Expanded version, the pro-abortionists want to have the license to kill unborn children.  Some of them from Chicago even allow the murder of fully born infants.  Pro-lifers hold that a human person is formed at conception.  Hence between life and death, there is really no middle or common ground.  Pro-aborts will then go for the split the difference argument i.e. to be able to abort in the first trimester but not afterwards.  They just don't get that a person, no matter how young, is still a person with the inalienable right to live.
