The main difference in battling ideologies for 2012 presidential elections

Fr. Andrew was invited to lead the opening prayer at the 2012 Colorado Republican State Assembly and Convention in the Magness Arena at the University of Denver. The moral challenges facing our country are not caused by political affiliation, but rather by attacks on religious freedom. He invites all people of conscience to uphold religious freedom. "The Church has rejected the totalitarian and atheistic ideologies associated in modem times with 'communism' or 'socialism.'" - Catechism of the Catholic Church 2425

Pro-Choice Repubs, burning bad books, will dead men vote for Democrats, we've turned the other cheek,

A couple of pro-choice Republicans came out unabashedly from  the woodworks of NH.  Between them and a pro-life Democrat, I'd go with the pro-lifer.  Better the devil you know.  The Repub has already shown his face as a baby killer.  The pro-life Democrat may still be real. Besides life trumps bread anytime.

The Church opposes burning the Koran on 9/11 because it offends Muslims.  How about burning a pornographic magazine, the black book of Satanic incantations or instructions on how to make a dirty bomb?  I'm sure that will be alright anytime because those cause sin and evil.  So, anything that causes evil is OK to destroy.  But what if it offends the evil doers?  And what if the evil doers hurt us?  Perhaps we should just give in and become Muslims, Satanists, sex addicts and bomb makers.

Why does Eric Holder not let dead people get purged from the voter lists?  Will dead men walk this November and vote for the Democrats?    More at  http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2010/09/027178.php
If not that, how else can they cheat?  Read at http://www.ejfi.org/Voting/Voting-100.htm

People say we should turn the other cheek on 9/11. We have. "Turning the other cheek" is the counter teaching against "an eye for an eye". That's the context. Christians do not seek revenge. They killed 3,000 civilians; we haven't gone after 3,000 civilians or crashed a plane in a Saudi commercial building. We have moved on. But some politicians want to interpret our Scriptures for us and say we should be doormats. To them I say, "After you."

Video: Rich intellectual tradition of the Catholic faith - being dumbed-down

The Catholic faith has a smart tradition.  It is intellectually profound and rich.  The Church will not be effective telling of our story by dumbing that down.  To make our story compelling enough to  light a fire on the earth, we need  to tell the it with panache.

Video: Unlimited pure energy - untapped, unregulated and available for prospectors.

When evil men control the government and write the laws, when the unborn and aged are at their mercy - of which is non-existent, when the guides and teachers of rigtheous living are smeared with false accusations then the hope for goodness to prevail will come from the only One Who Is Good.  An affair or encounter with Him with give anyone the power the move mountains, to span the globe, to heal the infirmed, to nourish the starving, to shelter the homeless, to counsel the confused.  For He "shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."  ( Isaiah 9:6 )  And you can tap into His power just as these people have done.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CA5LwFmsTko

Blog: Abps. Tobin, Wuerl, Dolan, Burke lead the Church Against Gov't Sponsored Depravity & Debauchary

Mr. Buchanan combines the recent actions of American bishops as they protect the human community from the onslaught of various government sponsored programs and policies.

With the House debate on health care at its hottest, the U.S. Catholic bishops issued a stunning ultimatum: Impose an absolute ban on tax funds for abortions, or we call for defeat of the Pelosi bill.

Message received. The Stupak Amendment, named for Bart Stupak of Michigan, was promptly passed, to the delight of pro-life Catholics and the astonished outrage of pro-abortion Democrats.

No member was more upset than Patrick Kennedy of Rhode Island, son of Edward Kennedy, who proceeded to bash the Church for imperiling the greatest advance for human rights in a generation.

As Rhode Island is our most Catholic state, Kennedy went silent and got this parting shot from Tobin: "Your position is unacceptable to the Church and scandalous to many of our members. It absolutely diminishes your communion with the Church."

The clash was naturally national news. But Tobin's public chastisement of a Catholic who carries the most famous name in U.S. and Catholic politics is made more significant because it seems to reflect a new militancy in the hierarchy that has been absent for decades

Archbishop Donald Wuerl of Washington, D.C., just informed the city council that, rather than recognize homosexual marriages and provide gays the rights and benefits of married couples, he will shut down all Catholic social institutions and let the city take them over. Civil disobedience may be in order here.

Archbishop Timothy Dolan of New York sent an op-ed to The New York Times charging the paper with anti-Catholic bigotry and using a moral double standard when judging the Church.

Dolan singled out a "scurrilous ... diatribe" by Maureen Dowd "that rightly never would have passed muster with the editors had it so criticized an Islamic, Jewish or African-American" faith.  ... Dowd, said Dolan, reads like something out of the Menace, the anti-Catholic Know Nothing newspaper of the 1850s.

The new spirit was first manifest last spring, when scores of bishops denounced Notre Dame for inviting Barack Obama, a NARAL icon, to give the commencement address and receive an honorary degree.

In his May address to the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast, Archbishop Raymond L. Burke said, "In a culture which embraces an agenda of death, Catholics and Catholic institutions are necessarily counter-cultural."

Our new battling bishops may be surprised to find they have a large cheering section among a heretofore silent and sullen faithful who have been desperate to find a few clerical champions.

Video: Life in Christ or death by Religion

This is just so perfect that I will replay it until I can transcribe the entrie talk.  I'll post it now for your benefit.  It is the difference between religion and a living relationship of Jesus, between a drab and lifeless body of laws and an exciting and fulfilling life of love.  Enjoy.

Abortion is more about God

Jesus take the wheel, I don't feel like driving anymore. I am tired and I don't think it will make a difference. Even bishops keep silent as lawmakers make it easy for infants to get killed. I feel helpless and I look stupid as I send emails.

And so I stopped and prayed. I pictured Jesus, blindfolded, crowned with thorns, bloodied and bruised holding a reed while the soldiers punch His face and yell, "Guess?"

All this pro-life activities is not just about saving a child or even the mother; it is about stopping nother blow in the face of the Creator. Each time a person is aborted, God is offended. Like someone picks an infant by the foot and tells God, "Let me show you what I will do with your creation" then kills the child and throws it in the dumpster.

Standing up for life is stopping people from offending God first and foremost. It's like yelling to guard who's going to punch the Lord "Stop!" It may not work, but the Lord will hear my protest.
