Ignoring the polls and the House of Representatives, President Obama is pushing ahead with a health care bill that will force Americans to pay for abortions. He has proposed what he calls a "targeted set of changes" to the Senate-passed bill, which have the effect of making a bad bill for babies even worse. (An 11-page summary is available on the White House website here).
Bear in mind that the Senate bill (H.R. 3590) already promotes abortion in multiple ways, making it the most pro-abortion legislation since Roe v. Wade. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), a cautious critic at best, posted a study of the anti-life provisions of the Senate bill that ran no fewer than thirteen (13) pages.
Now comes Obama's version, ladling on $11 billion for "Community Health Centers." Planned Parenthood will be the beneficiary of much of this money, as the President helps his friends at the abortion organization get even richer off our tax dollars.
Obama also wants to subsidize private health insurance that covers abortion, and to mandate that even non-subsidized plans to cover abortion, in effect forcing all of us to pay for someone else's abortion.

My Journey: Tax problems.
I was having tax problems with my 2008 return that has caused anxiety. This afternoon, I read Mt 7:7-12 that was about a child asking his father for food and not being denied. So, I paused and prayed feeling assured by that timely passage. I didn’t bargain because I said, “If I knew that there was something that God wanted from me, then I would give it – whether I needed something or not.” A few minutes after the prayer, an email arrived from the Tax Appeals Division saying that my case has been closed.
Here are the details. Back in April, I filed my taxes electronically. A few months later, I got a letter charging me for the full amount of my tax liabilities plus interests and penalties. When I examined the statement, it showed that the payroll deductions were not factored in so, something must have gone wrong during the transmission. I resubmitted a printed copy of the returns with my W2s. A couple of months later, I got a collection letter with even more interest charges and penalties. So I sent in an appeal. After a few weeks I mustered the courage to follow up by phone only to be asked to call back after another week. After a week, I called back and explained the situation all over. My case has gone into two directions – one with the appeals board and the other with the amendment division. And I was talking with a third division whose number was in the correspondence. I was asked to call back in two weeks. That is the back drop of today’s event. And another thing though, last week a man flew his airplane into an I.R.S. building in Texas.

Video: Reagan's analysis of socialized medicine amazingly applicable and alarming
If you saw the Health Care Summit today and considered the arguments together with the emotional appeals, you would be amazed at how this 1961 speech addresses the very same drama with some alarming implications. I yield the next 4 minutes to the late President Ronald Reagan for this warning.

Ronald Reagan speaks out against socialized medicine. A modernly relevant portion of a 1961 LP recorded by Ronald Reagan. In this recording, Reagan warned that socialized medicine would curtail Americans' freedom and that "pretty soon your son won't decide when he's in school, where he will go or what he will do for a living. He will wait for the government to tell him." Ronald Reagan clearly unfolds how social medicine encroaches upon Americans' freedoms. Whether deliberately advancing socialization under the guise of humanitarian effort, or simply instituting another social program with reduced individual freedoms following in its wake, socialized medicine will lead to the erosion of every American's God given rights and freedoms.

Video: Actual abortion. Shows why the Church opposes Obama's proposal
This is an Abortion! - Warning Very Graphic - Video - Catholic Online
The defining issue of our time is abortion. I posted an actual procedure it to make the idea less abstract and more real. Please be warned that it is quite graphic and disturbing. It's there so that one can see what others are deriding or dismissing summarily.
This is worse than slavery or the denial of civil rights. But the health care proposal of Pres. Obama has language that will use the taxpayers monies to fund abortion. While the church is for health care reform, it finds it unconscionable to support a plan that includes the federal funding for abortions.
I hope the video will be intuitive enough to counter any sophistries to justify Obama's proposal.

Pro-life laws in Nebraska, Florida, Oklahoma & Hawaii on the way
http://www.omaha.com/article/20100221/NEWS01/702219879
LINCOLN — Nebraska could reshape national abortion policy if lawmakers embrace a proposal to ban almost all abortions after a fetus reaches 20 weeks. The state has played a role on the national stage before, with a 1997 law banning the controversial late-term procedure known medically as intact dilation and extraction, or D&X. The U.S. Supreme Court in 2000 overturned that Nebraska law, upholding its previous abortion decisions and dealing a setback to abortion opponents, who call the procedure “partial-birth” abortion. Those opponents gained hope seven years later, when the justices on a more conservative Supreme Court upheld a federal ban on the D&X procedure.

An expansive measure to make most abortions illegal in Florida has been filed for the 2010 Legislative session, challenging federal protections in place for more than 40 years. Both anti-abortion advocates and abortion rights supporters agree the 53-page proposal is an attempt to directly challenge the 40-year-old Roe v. Wade U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized abortions in the United States in 1973. “The Legislature finds that there have been 50 million abortions in the United States since the Roe decision,” the bill reads. “ The Legislature further finds that every life lost to abortion was sacred and of the highest value.”
Sponsored by Rep. Charles Van Zant, R-Palatka, HB 1097 would criminalize most abortions now allowed under state and federal law, increase penalties for physicians who perform such services and require pregnant women to receive more information on adoption.

Oklahoma City, OK (LifeNews.com) -- An Oklahoma state Senate committee on Thursday approved three key pro-life bills designed to reduce abortions. The measures address legal changes to two state laws that an Oklahoma judge last year tossed out as unconstitutional. The Oklahoma state Senate Health and Human Services Committee advanced Senate Bill 1891 which would protect health care professionals' freedom of conscience by affirming their right to refuse to participate in the taking of a human life. They also supported SB 1902, regulating the use of the dangerous abortion drug RU 486, which has claimed the lives of more than 13 women worldwide and injured countless others. And the panel backed SB 1890, which would prohibit abortions that are done for sex-selection reasons. The three bills had been in a package of legislation the legislature approved last year, but the court determined the bill violated a constitutional requirement that legislation only address one subject even though the bills were all about stopping abortions.

The House of Representatives yesterday paved the way for Hawaii to become the first state in the nation to repeal its abortion law. The repeal bill passed by a 31-20 vote and is expected to breeze through the Senate on Tuesday. Every member voted on the measure. Barring major defects in the bill, Gov. John A. Burns is expected to let the bill become law without his signature. It will automatically become law 10 days after he receives it. The Governor has stated in the past that he supports repeal. Although the measure is laced with amendments, it still retains its basic intent—to repeal Hawaii's 101-year-old abortion

Mississippi gathers overwhelming support to add personhood amendment for vote
A grass roots organization in Mississippi has gathered over 130,000 signatures in order to place a Personhood amendment on an upcoming ballot in the state. This exceeds the minimum requirement of 89,285 needed for a ballot initiative so it is expected to be approved in next few days then placed in the 2011 ballot.

Archdiocese ends partnership with DC rather than compromise faith
In Washington, D.C., the same-sex marriage bill is expected to become law within a couple of weeks. Because of this, the Archdiocese of Washington D.C. through Catholic Charities will be forced to recognize those unions if it will remain in partnership with the city. Rather than compromise the Church's teaching on marriage, the archdiocese ended its foster care program.

Bishop Robert Vasa Strips Hospital of Catholic Title because it could not meet the Catholic standard.
"It is my responsibility to ensure the hospital is following Catholic principles both in name and in fact," Bishop Vasa said. "It would be misleading for me to allow St. Charles Bend to be acknowledged as Catholic in name while I am certain that some important tenets of the Ethical and Religious Directives are no longer being observed." So, the Catholic Diocese of Baker announced that the Catholic Church will no longer sponsor St. Charles Medical Center-Bend. In particular, it is because of sterilization procedures performed at the hospital that goes against the Church's teachings. Bishop's notice found here http://www.sentinel.org/node/10753

iCarly's Dancing Bra, Suite Life of Zack & Cody & St. John Bosco's "Goodnight Talk" before the "Great Silence"
Source:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7z2RR1CgnQ or click here
In this video, the dancing bra tells ghosts stories.
While snowed in, I watched the same shows with my kids. There’s Nickolodeon iCarly about 3 tweens and their web-based show. There's a voluptuous dancing bra that makes an appearance from time to tome like the segment above. It seemed harmless enough until I found a Google search for ‘Boobs and Tits’ in my computer's history.
Then there's “The Suite Life on Deck” where smart-alecky kids lie all the time. And the show finds it acceptable and humorous most of the time. So, my 10-year old lied about feeding the dog until the poor animal foraged for food in the garbage last night.
These are Disney shows but they’re nothing in moral content like those from the Wonderful World of Disney decades ago. So, I'm cutting out cable TV. And I’ll give a good-night talk in the way St. John Bosco did to his homeless youth. The good-night talk is done after night prayers and contains a moral lesson from something that happened during the day. That is how St. John Bosco made faith part of life. And psychologically, it is a most effective time to instill good thoughts. The talk is followed by the great silence – in the monastic tradition where no one talks unless it is an emergency. That silence ushers in sleep but also combats dissipation and distractions. The serenity and stillness brings recollection and a sense of God’s awesome and mysterious presence.
The reckless distractions from TV has to be not only filtered out but replaced with wholesome and spiritual thoughts.

The ending of legalized abortion in the USA
Would you spend $2.5 million to show a 30-second video clip where a mother talks about how tough it is to have a child? The group Focus of the Family did just that during the Superbowl commercial break last Sunday to make people aware of what a pregnancy can turn into – in her case a football star. Why is that message worth $2.5 million? In my opinion, it is a cry of protest against the culture that allowed 50 million children to be killed legally since 1973 in the USA alone. So, that would be 5 cents per life if only that could bring them back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BIOTItUwvk
Two weeks ago, there were around half a million protest marchers around the country on the anniversary of that court rulling, Roe V Wade, that legalized abortion. . http://divine-ripples.blogspot.com/2010/01/video-2010-right-to-life-march-300000.html
And this has been happening every year since 1973 and will continue until abortion is outlawed in this country because abortion is abhorred by nature. It has caused death, barrenness, depression among others because, women are wired to nurture their young not kill them. The only way to trick them into doing that is by lies but, that is harder nowadays with the sonogram and Doppler heart monitors that present images of developing persons and sounds of heart beats. That debunks the lie that the child is only a lump of cells.
Then, there are changing attitudes; because, since1973 everyone who was born had a parent who is either pro-life or a pro-choice person who opted for the child. So, this attitude has been caught by those children who are now the GenXers and GenYers who value life.
Another place is verify this is in the Manhantan Declaration web site where close to 500,000 have committed themselves to acts of public disobedience if pro-abortion legislation and policies get pushed in the so-called health care reform. http://www.manhattandeclaration.org/
The tide has changed. There are a few who are still for choice for the sake of others even if they themselves are pro-life. The liberated women who burned their bras are now in nursing homes while others have sobered up to the real meaning of feminism. There might be some who still prefer career over children but those are the exceptions.
So, the real advocate of abortion rights is an industry with a lot of money to buy political support from Obama and air time from the media. That same industry that tries to penetrate the educational system to separate kids from their parents guidance and encourage fornication, pregnancies then abortion.
Knowing this, gives the battle for the unborn a new impetus because of the allies that will soon arrive. Businesses and politicians all depend on popular appeal so when they realize that the market and support for choice is waning, they will rethink their investments and platforms. CBS is an example of one who adjusted their sails to the winds of change. The Democrats if they do not pick up on this will doom their political careers - specially if they keep supporting a healthcare reform with abortion funding.
It is darkest just before the dawn and the current times cannot get any darker. But then we know that the dawn is coming and the culture of death will disappear in the light because life is from the Creator who lives and has power over all.

Watch for yourself and see how Planned Parenthood wants to force 10 year olds to learn about sexual intercourse as part of the school curriculum. And can you guess what their motivation is? When all these kids start getting pregnant, who would provide abortions? There you have it. So, what are you going to do about it?

The silent killer of spiritual growth.
Why are we not saints yet? Despite the many times that we've resolved to strive for perfection and turn away from selfishness, we seem to be stuck in a rut. What is holding us back, this silent killer of spiritual growth?
The classical spiritual writers call the culprit the predominant passion; behavioral scientists call them pre-neurotic tendencies. Bishop Eugene James Cuskelly in his book "A Heart to Know Thee" lists them below. What we can do is pick out the one that suits us and check ourselves. It's like a car that's veering to the side that needs to be pulled back constantly.
There a special examination of conscience just for this called the particular examen. The bottom line, what is holding us from the love of Christ is the love of self. And so I added the video "So long self"
Pride of SENSUALITY: an inner cleverly concealed urge to pleasure. When this tendency colors thought and action, the affections are inclined to run away with reason; pleasure of the senses attracts so strongly that the observance even of simple duties is neglected. There is a strong romantic tone in the working of the imagination. There may even be a pronounced tendency to affectionate gestures and facial expression, sometimes carrying over into soft and flattering speech; it reaches a danger point when it develops into sensual friendship.
Pride of TIMIDITY: sometimes walks in the garb of humility. As G.K. Chesterton said, “We are too proud to be prominent.” Its worst effect is the vice of human respect. Essentially self-centered, it broods in silence and lacks the power to confide in anyone. It has too great a regard for the opinion of others, and a fearfulness of what others will think of possible failure. It sometimes makes people omit the good they should do, or not avoid the evil they should avoid, only because of what others may think of them. At times it makes one critical of others, branding them as “show-offs,” or making one say, “I could do much better,” “I would never make that stupid blunder.” It lacks the courage of a frontal attack.
Pride of SENSITIVITY: the world’s injured ones. This pride causes them to detect insult and injury where they are never intended. This tendency shows itself in what is properly called touchiness. The person possessing it is generally kindly disposed toward all, but his temperature drops when his emotional nature is rebuffed. Somewhat sentimental, the sensitive person cannot understand harder heads; he may give room to jealousy when attention is paid to others rather than himself. Easily wounded at the lack of response to his attentions, he has the tantrums of a child who seeks attention and does not find it. Unstable, he is given to fits and starts in his enthusiasms.
Pride of COMPLACENCY: an exaggerated notion of one’s own excellence. Ignoring the fact that God is the Author of all good in them, these people excuse their own failings; others are the cause of their shortcomings! Day-dreamers, they conjure up triumphs in the world of their own imaginings, neglecting the job on hand. Often they are boastful, and this is a way of concealing their own ignorance. They show off by witty sayings and loquacity, playing the clown only to have the eyes of all focused upon them; then preen themselves on their prowess in sport, singing … anything.
Pride of AUTHORITY: a tendency to bossiness, the ambitious desire always to beat down the opposition in order to acquiesce in one’s own will and way. Two of its chief manifestations are anger and stubbornness. It has the character of bludgeoning others into the ways it has traced and will brook no delay in having its commands obeyed. Those who possess this trait in marked degree are generally contemptuous of the opinions of others and do not hesitate to would their sensibilities. Their audacity is not bravery but rashness to attain their ends, come what may. Leadership, in itself a good thing, for them means domination. Their zeal is generally zeal without knowledge and is imprudent.

Lyrics:
Well if I come across a little bit distant
It's just because I am
Things just seem to feel a little bit different
You understand
Believe it or not but life is not apparently
About me anyways
But I have met the One who really is worthy
So let me say
So long self
Well it's been fun, but I have found somebody else
So long self
There's just no room for two
So you are gonna have to move
So long self
Don't take this wrong but you are wrong for me farewell
Oh well, Goodbye, don't cry
So Long Self
Stop right there because I know what your thinking
But no we can't be friends
And even though I know your heart is breaking
This has to end
And come to think of it the blame for all of this
Simply falls on me
For wanting something more in life than all of this
Can't you see
[Bridge]
Don't feel so bad (don't feel so bad)
There'll be better days (there'll be better days)
Don't go away mad (but by all means)
Just go away, go away

St. John Bosco's La Casa Nostra
One of the traits of St. John Bosco’s religious order is the preeminence of the community. The Salesians are not supermen like Jesuits; they’re average Joes who work together as a team. For a Salesian, it is better to achieve only 80% when you work with the community than to get 100% by doing it alone. It's called "In unum locum, in unum spiritum." or "in one place and one spirit".
All the religious orders have community life but the Salesians live theirs differently – the difference is the “Family Spirit”. And it is not just a generic family, but an Italian family. I don’t know if I should bring up the Sopranos or Godfather here but, there is that tight cohesion that is absent from those families where the children fly off the nest as soon as they turn 18.
I try to instill the same spirit at home by asking my kids to help each other with their chores. While they have their assignments, they’re not allowed to say, “That’s not my job.” I set the example by helping my them myself.

Consumer protection regulations needed for abortion services
The videos below show how those who procured abortion were misinformed causing them life-long pain and suffering. I wonder if they can seek compensation for their injuries?
While there are consumer protection laws that protect the interests of pregnant women when it comes to cigarettes and alcohol, there is nothing to warn them that they are about to kill a child with a beating heart when they get an abortion. The butchers assume that they know and want what they're doing. Sometimes, these murderers even trick the women by hiding information about the child.
It would make sense and be fair if warnings similar to those in booze and smokes be provided about that procedure. This can be done by showing the mothers an ultrasound picture of the child and by making them hear the heartbeats. Furthermore, since this decision changes lives, the women must be required to attest that they are not coerced into this.
