There is a quiet anger boiling in America.

My friends at Facebook are wondering why I sound like an angry member of the Tea Party.  And I am truly angry and here's why:

It is the anger of small town and Middle American folks who have never been to Manhattan, who put their savings in a community bank and borrow from a local credit union, who watch Washington lawmakers and presidents of both parties hand billions in taxpayer bailouts to the reckless Wall Street titans who brought down the economy in 2008.

It is the salted wound of the millions who see that ruling Democrats in Congress are not listening to them but are willfully ignoring public opinion and the verdict of recent elections in passing a huge new health care entitlement when the existing entitlements of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are already going broke.

It is the frustrating helplessness of citizens who revere the Founding Fathers and the genius of the Constitution that they wrote, who actually believe the words of the Constitution mean what they say, not more and not less. They who watch politicians and the courts stretch and bend that Constitution -- finding "rights" not enumerated, powers never granted, meanings unimagined -- believe that their country is being redefined without their consent.

Most of the angry are not out marching in the streets, waving signs or shouting into bullhorns. And they are not smashing windows or phoning death threats to politicians. They are simply waking up angry in the morning, and going to bed angry at night. And their resentment is multiplied by the media's efforts to portray them all as dangerous, crazy people, and by the effort of certain Democrats to tar them with brush of violent intent.

They are tired of being told they are too stupid to understand the country's complex problems, too rooted in the past to find solutions, too selfish to share what they have worked for with everyone else who wants it.

Vatican responds to media distortions on Tucson abuse cases

In an extraordinary display of media bias, the Associated Press has reported that “the abuse cases of two priests in Arizona have cast further doubt on the Catholic church's insistence that Pope Benedict XVI played no role in shielding pedophiles before he became pope.”


Far from “shielding pedophiles,” the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, at Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger’s direction, ruled that the two priests-- Fathers Michael Teta and Robert Trupia-- be removed from the priesthood, as Catholic World News had earlier reported. Both priests exercised their right to lengthy canonical appeals of earlier disciplinary actions, but were suspended from ministry during that time.

Father Federico Lombardi, director of the Holy See Press Office, issued a statement on the Teta case.

“The Diocese of Tucson contacted the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith regarding the case, because it regarded the canonical crime of solicitation in the confessional,” he said. “The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith took an active interest in the case throughout the 1990’s, in order to guarantee that the Church trial underway in the Diocese of Tucson was properly completed. The trial was completed in 1997. The cleric in question was found guilty and laicized. The evidence clearly and certainly shows this.”

$100K reward for sound bytes to disprove Black Caucus' slander of Tea Party

The Black Caucus appears to have slandered the Tea Party by falsely claiming to have called with racial epithets.  Yet, not one audio byte  has proven their allegation even with their own cameras recording the event.  It appears that these politicians have done a grave injustice to the opposition with their lies.

The Mother Stood (Stabat Mater)

Mary stood by the cross.  She did not lose heart or break down.  She knew that it had to happen.  She remembered God's words from the time that her Son was conceived till the day He died.  She stood there joining Her Son in Redeeming the world.

Text of the sequence.

At the Cross her station keeping,
stood the mournful Mother weeping,
close to Jesus to the last.

Through her heart, His sorrow sharing,
all His bitter anguish bearing,
now at length the sword has passed.

O how sad and sore distressed
was that Mother, highly blest,
of the sole-begotten One.

Christ above in torment hangs,
she beneath beholds the pangs
of her dying glorious Son.

Is there one who would not weep,
whelmed in miseries so deep,
Christ's dear Mother to behold?

Can the human heart refrain
from partaking in her pain,
in that Mother's pain untold?

For the sins of His own nation,
She saw Jesus wracked with torment,
All with scourges rent:

She beheld her tender Child,
Saw Him hang in desolation,
Till His spirit forth He sent.

O thou Mother! fount of love!
Touch my spirit from above,
make my heart with thine accord:

Make me feel as thou hast felt;
make my soul to glow and melt
with the love of Christ my Lord.

Holy Mother! pierce me through,
in my heart each wound renew
of my Savior crucified:

Let me share with thee His pain,
who for all my sins was slain,
who for me in torments died.

mourning Him who mourned for me,
