Washington D.C., Jan 24, 2011 / 07:02 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- Hundreds of thousands of people packed the National Mall in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 24 to show their support for the human rights of the unborn at the annual March for Life.


This year's march marked the 38th anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision in Roe v. Wade.

For the first time ever, the morning rally events that preceded the March for Life took place at two locations – the Verizon Center and D.C. Armory – to accommodate larger-than-usual crowds. Growing youth participation, possibly assisted by online social media, has nearly quadrupled the size of the march during the past decade.

Fr. Mark Ivany, a priest from Bethesda, Md., told the crowd at the Verizon center on the morning of the march that they were speaking on behalf of those who would never be able to speak for themselves.

"The greatest difference between other civil rights movements and this one,” Fr. Ivany reflected solemnly, “is that most of the people affected by Roe v. Wade can't march on Washington. They can't give great speeches.”

41% pregnancies aborted in NY. Among African Americans, it is 60%. And while contraception is readily available there, it obviously does not prevent pregnancies and STD.

Furthermore legal abortions sends the wrong message i.e. that it is OK thus coarsening the moral sensibility. If a mother can kill her child, whom can she not kill?

Video description: Miracle captured on video by Daniel Sanford of New Jersey. On 11/13/98, as part of the pilgrimage, he went to see the Bleeding Host of Betania at the Chapel of the Augustinian Nuns in Los Teques. The Spiritual Director, Father Mazzarella, said Daily Mass. When they finished, he opened the Tabernacle door, which contained the Bleeding Host. The Host was in flames, bleeding, and there was a pulsating heart bleeding in the center of the Host. Daniel watched this for about 30 seconds or so, then the Host returned to normal. HOWEVER, He did manage to film this miracle with his camcorder!

If the Democrats rise and applaud, don't be carried by their fake enthusiasm. Remember how they disregarded the people's will.

He will talk about jobs but his policies caused businesses to leave or fold. He should own up to his faults in their loss instead.

He and his Democrats won't support the repeal. So, I do hope people simply stand and walk out of his speech. He has nothing to tell us but lies. He deserves not our audience.

Most people turn to God when they see the light, others when they feel the heat.  It may not be cool or sound intelligent to talk about the devil - as though it is a tale for the superstitious and the gullible.  But the reality is, the devil exists and is as active in the world as before.  He may not take possession of people as shown in this movie, but he does make us sin.

There are certain artifices of the devil, who, after all, is a very intelligent being....
(i)  He takes the soul by its weak point (whence the need for self-knowledge),
(ii) in moments of negligence and distraction (hence the need of vigilance),
(iii) proposing good ends, but indiscreet (whence the usefulness of taking counsel),
(iv) in little things if the soul's resistance to grave falls is proved,
(v)  dissimulating vice under the appearance of virtue, which is the same as making us fall victims to illusion.
