When told that the poor had no bread, Marie-Antoinette said, "Let them eat cake." Some say she was clueless or apathetic; others think that she might have thought of giving her cakes away. No matter, in this video, one might wonder why people aren't contented with their simple food like rice and dried fish. The answer is that there is no simple food to begin with.

Strong message - thank you
"Let them eat cake" Point for historical accuracy sake - she never said that. The quote comes from her mother and not out of malice or scorn but from ignorance in not understanding how there could be no food. This quote was twisted and misattributed by the "revolution" for evil purposes and unfortunately it lasts until this day.
Similar quotes are put in the mouth of the king also, to show his indifference to to the "common people" For example, his diary entry on the day of the storming of the Bastille reads "nothing significant happened today" The entry was pertaining only to his "hunting journal" and not to the day's events which he certainly and verifiably was aware of and concerned about.
Sorry for the aside from the important point you make, but I'm a stickler when it comes to history because people use it to justify all sorts of evils.
Hi Christopher, No problem. Please continue to correct any inaccuracy that you find. I appreciate it and so will the other readers. Thanks.
