Catholic actor Neal McDonough was sacked because of his refusal to do some heated love scenes
Following Jesus has a price.
"But, in fact, McDonough was sacked because of his refusal to do some heated love scenes with babelicious star (and Botox pitchwoman) Virginia Madsen. The reason? He's a family man and a Catholic, and he's always made it clear that he won't do sex scenes. And ABC knew that.
...
"It has cost him jobs, but the man is sticking to his principles," a source explained to me. You can't help but admire McDonough for sticking to his beliefs, even if he's poised to lose as much as $1 million in paydays for Scoundrels..."
But what does it profit one to gain millions but lose his soul?

Video: Paul Krugman of the NYT explains how death panels will save money.
source http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aogCaGv9i78 or click here
Wait up, I thought there were no death panels? I guess I need to call them by the technical label "advisory panel". Has the world gone mashugana? Can no one see what is wrong with that concept? But it's now there, so when we bring grandma, let's hope that the panels find her treatment worth it and make a binding resolution to let her live - even if it is on our insurance.
And those who called Sarah Palin a liar or ridiculed her for pointing out these "advisory panels" owe her a big apology i.e. if those people have any integrity or sense of fair play. But I'm not gonna hold my breath until they do that.

MSNBC LIBELS THE POPE
Catholic League president Bill Donohue accuses MSNBC of libeling Pope Benedict XVI:
Go to the home page of MSNBC and click on "World News." From there click on "Americas." Next click on the article, "Losing Their Religion? Catholicism in Turmoil." Scroll down and in the "Click for Related Content" section there is an article entitled, "Pope Describes Touching Boys: I Went Too Far." Clicking on this piece takes the reader to an article about a homosexual German priest who had sex with males in the 1980s. It says absolutely nothing about the pope. Yet MSNBC paints Pope Benedict XVI as a child molester in the tease to the article.
A retraction, and a sincere apology, are in order. They should also investigate how this happened and who is responsible.

Ricky Vines MSNBC Libels Pope. Really disgusting assault. As noted above, there is a great desire to undermine the authority of the bishops and Pope in the USin an attempt to lend credibility to other Catholics who disregard the episcopal guidance and formtheir own interpretation of the faith. This mistake coming from the propaganda arm of the administrationis just so convenient. The Church must explore all legal options to enforce a punitive measure that willprevent such recklessness in the future. This is another way to make Pelosi, Kennedy, Stupak, Keehan andCHA to look like reasonable if not faithful to the spirit of Catholicism. I think it would be naivefor the Church to swallow that apology hook, line and sinker. I move for a court case to be filedand damages levied. This is the Vicar of our Incarnate God Who face is being dragged through the mud.I think many will contribute to the legal fees that will be incurred when filing such a case.

(Crackdown on the opposition?) FBI raids & arrests yesterday in Michigan, Cleveland & Indiana
Is this how the opposition is being neutralized? Are political critics and opponents categorized as enemies of the State? Is this the beginning of the police state and the suppression of dissent and free speech?

Then raids by the Cleveland FBI inSandusky
(WXYZ) - The FBI was conducting raids Saturday night at multiple locations in southeast Michigan.
Action News has learned Homeland Security and the Joint Anti-terrorism Task Force is also involved in a major operation.
Federal officials would not say who they were targeting or where, but the FBI has set up a command center at the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department in Ann Arbor, where they have brought in two satellite trucks and a radio tower.
Agents have also obtained search warrants and multiple arrests have been made
A battalion of local officers and federal agents flooded the Bayshore Estates neighborhood Saturday afternoon.Updates when we get them...Update(Matt Damon): Add another location to the list of raid locations...Hammond, Indiana.
A second raid was conducted in Huron. An FBI agent at the scene of the Bayshore Estates raid said a second, related raid was taking place at “another location.” Huron police confirmed late Saturday a raid had taken place in that city, but would say nothing more.
Likewise, FBI agents at the scene and at the Cleveland field office are staying mum on the cause of the commotion.
“We did make some arrests,” said special agent Scott Wilson of the FBI’s Cleveland office.

Video: America Personified - not dependent, not defeatist, not pessimistic against all odds
This man is a personification of the American spirit that is indefatigable . It shows the winning and fighting spirit that overcame the British kingdom and the Nazi military machine against seemingly insurmountable odds. It is still the spirit of most Americans who prefer to determine their own destinies instead of becoming dependent on welfare from the State.

Video: The Story of Stuff (Consumerism within the big picture)
Although, I think this video is generalizing, there is still some truth in it; and, that invites us to look beyond our consumption pattern into the bigger picture.

From its extraction through sale, use and disposal, all the stuff in our lives affects communities at home and abroad, yet most of this is hidden from view. The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute, fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns. The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues, and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world. It'll teach you something, it'll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever. http://storyofstuff.org
